The Mystical City of God: A Popular Abridgment
By Venerable Mary of Agreda · Published by TAN Books
Overview
The Mystical City of God: A Popular Abridgment presents an accessible introduction to one of the most celebrated works of Catholic mystical literature. Drawn from the monumental four-volume masterpiece of Venerable Mary of Agreda, this single-volume edition offers readers the most captivating portions of her mystical visions concerning the Blessed Virgin Mary, the hidden life of Jesus Christ, and the unfolding drama of salvation history.
Filled with vivid contemplative detail, this abridgment explores the creation of the world, the rebellion of Lucifer, the ministry of the holy angels, the hidden years of Christ and His Blessed Mother, and the mysteries surrounding the Apocalypse. While the Church regards private revelations as aids to devotion rather than additions to Divine Revelation, generations of Catholics have turned to this classic to deepen their meditation on Scripture, grow in love for Our Lady, and contemplate God's providential plan with renewed wonder.

Mystical City of God
This book will change forever how you think of Our Holy and Blessed Mother. It will radically improve your meditation in the Holy Rosary! It is not a 'page flipper', but a steady study that takes time to soak in. Read from cover to cover! Give it away to seminarians and priests!

Mary’s Life in detail
First bought & read the paperback abridged book in 1985 aged 25 and it spiritually informed and inspired me, …almost into joining the priesthood but I was interested in in girls and studying to be an Architect. I qualified in 1988. I highly recommend this book and Sister now Saint Faustian and her diary for Divine Mercy In 20218 I bought the full hardback version, all 4 volumes and its content is breathtaking! Both the abridged and full version can he hard working for a slow reader like me and maybe not for everyone. But if you want to know in detail about the life of Mary this book has it all Enjoy and follow ???

City of God
I've read the four books of The Mystical City of God a few times but for someone who wants the condensed version, this is the best! I bought 6 copies to give to some of my church friends and the priest. Everyone was happy to receive the book.

Mystical City of God
This book changed my prayer life: it magnified my imagination for meditating the Rosary... it prompted me to acquire the FULL set of books so I could go as much in depth as the Divine Author and publishers would allow me to go into the mysticism and wisdom of Ven Mary of Agreda... Who speaks FOR the Blessed Mother! AMAZING!
