- Activity pages,
- And all the resources you need to teach them!
With these resources, your student will become familiar with St. Benedict, one of the Church’s most beloved saints and the founder of Western Monasticism. His life was filled with heroism and holiness, as well as danger and excitement! No Catholic education would be complete without knowing the life and works of St. Benedict, one of the greatest Fathers of the Church.
The author of St. Benedict: The Story of the Father of the Western Monks, Mary Fabyan Windeatt, was known as “the storyteller of the saints.” In the 1950s and 60s, she wrote over 20 historical fiction novels on the saints, bringing to life these holy men and women for young readers across the world. Sold individually or in a set of 20, these timeless classics have educated young men and women in virtue since their publication in the 1950s. Each story tells the life of an important saint in an engaging way, detailing his or her virtues, struggles, and countless adventures.
With this Teacher’s Manual, you will be equipped to bring the stories of the saints to life while simultaneously growing your student’s reading and comprehension skills. You and your student will love this expansion of the well-loved and classic Windeatt saint stories!

great idea, needs further editing
We are a classical educating family using Memoria Press, and found these books a great way to study Catholic saints in a classical way. However, they need further development and editing. For example, the student books contain activities that aren;t mentioned in the Teacher;s Manuals. In fact, the Teacher;s Manuals are really selective answer keys. I encourage TAN to continue to develop products like this, but please, more professionally. The Teacher;s Manuals need an image of each page of the Student Workbooks to help with preparation and lesson planning. Also, do not make activities in the workbook "optional." They are all useful for teaching; if an individual family (or school) must skip a page, It's up to them. These literature guides should also be marketed to Catholic schools to replace the banal literature study most of them currently do and to incorporate Catholic studies into each subject area. Thank you TAN books! A much needed resource. Please also write these guides for more Windeatt titles.
