Our Holy Faith Vol 3: Prince of Peace
Published by TAN Books
Overview
Give your child a solid foundation in the Faith with the acclaimed Our Holy Faith series of religion textbooks for grades 1–8. Long trusted by families seeking orthodox Catholic formation, these newly re-typeset TAN Books editions have been carefully revised with modernized language and updates reflecting current Church practice. Expanded explanations of core teachings, along with quotations from Sacred Scripture, the saints, and the Catechism, help students grasp essential doctrines with clarity and depth.
Catechesis must shape both understanding and holiness. The Our Holy Faith series engages students spiritually as well as intellectually through “For Me to Do” activities that encourage practical application and growth in virtue. Traditional prayers drawn from faithful Catholic sources are incorporated into each lesson so that children actively live the truths they study.
Digging deeper than the earlier volumes, Book 3, Prince of Peace, covers the first half of Baltimore Catechism One. Students begin their first sustained exploration of the nature of God and the mystery of the Trinity, the reality of sin and the Fall of man, the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the sanctifying presence of the Holy Spirit, the foundation of the Catholic Church, and the moral law expressed in the Ten Commandments. Structured lessons, assessments, and supplemental materials provide a confident framework for growing theological understanding.

Beautiful images
The book has beautiful pictures and is overall well-written. However, there are archaic words that are used that possibly should be edited. A teacher's manual would also be useful in order to better explain concepts that might appear on the reviews at the end of the chapter but may have not been made clear in the chapter itself.

Beautiful Books
I purchased these books to use with my children next year for Homeschool. They are well-made, gorgeous, and well written; I am so glad I bought them.

Purchased both 3rd and4th volume for 3rd grade year
Very impressive family friendly religion for homeschooling or just domestic church supplement for kids. I appreciate it so much better than the busy work books and so does my son. The faith conversation at the end of each short chapter and the beautiful pictures along the way are bonuses. Nicely done Tan! Versus grumbles from my son when I pulled out prior competitors resources, now he snuggles up on the couch for conversation and reading time with me.

True, Good, and Beautiful
I love how TAN has developed this series! The truth and goodness of the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism are there but great beauty has been added. The full gloss text contains sacred art and the overall layout makes it extremely appealing, drawing kiddos in.
