Fr.Germanus","text":"[not sure if my review was cut off, so…] Written by her spiritual director (not her confessor) who was closely knowledgeable of Gemma&#039;s life, exterior and interior. &gt;WORTH reading&lt; because it gives a real glimpse into the life of one of the rarest of saints honored by the Church: for, beyond all the details of her holy life, Jesus desired her &gt;to be a victim soul who willingly and lovingly would »console Him« by her sufferings, offered as reparation to God and for saving sinners. Ven.Pope Pius XII&#039;s decree of her canonization [not in book] »Sanctitudinis Culmen« translates as &quot;the high point of sanctity&quot;–lofty praise when one thinks of great saints of the past. And therein he also makes statements which almost defy belief if fully taken in; and, yet, they Must be accepted as literally true, for they are solemnly declared in the&gt;Name of the Church AND In The Name Of GOD&lt;. Gemma was a remarkable young woman and is a beyond extraordinary saint. She deserves to be much better known. And this bio, while written in an older style, gives a real glimpse into Gemma&#039;s life and heart, her profound, generous and sacrificial love for Our Lord, and her love of neighbor, especially when interceding for souls. She had personal conversations with her guardian angel, saints and Our Lady, whom she dearly loved. One prayer: &quot;Mother never allow me to lose holy purity. Place me under your mantle, guard this treasure for me, and I shall become more pleasing to Jesus.&quot;[p.167] Daily, with hands under her knees as she&#039;d learned from her mother, she prayed three Hail Marys in honor of Mary&#039;s Immaculate Conception, asking for the grace to always remain pure.
