The Golden Arrow
Wonderful book of the life of Sr. Mary of St. Peter whom Christ dictated the "Golden Arrow Prayer" which is a prayer of Praise and Reparation for those who take God's name in vain. After receiving this prayer, Sister Mary of St. Peter was given a vision in which she saw the Sacred Heart of Jesus delightfully wounded by this "Golden Arrow" as torrents of graces streamed from It for the conversion of sinners. The prayer takes less than 20 seconds to recite and if said devoutly pleases Jesus very much! On several occasions in 1847 Jesus warned of communism and gave her ammunition (prayers) to combat the evil forces against the church.

If you have a devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus, this book is a must read. The Golden Arrow prayer itself is the core prayer of the Holy Face devotion. And, even if you don;t yet have this devotion, I strongly encourage you to read this book. Sr. Marie of St. Peter is an extraordinary and beautiful soul. Very inspiring.

Lenten Retreat
Our parish had a lenten retreat from the Missionaries of Saint John the Baptist. Wonderful preaching and the priest covered A LOT over the entire week. One of the Venerables that he brought up several times was Ven. Sr. MARY OF Saint Peter and this book. I ordered it and a few months later started reading it on God's perfect timing. This book is exactly what I needed to deal with someone that blasphemous decries Our Lords name. Simple writing and power house prayers of reparation. Highly recommend

Flabbergasted I hadn;t heard of Sr. Mary of St. Peter before now. Having read St. Therese;s Letters, Story of a Soul, and as much else as I could regarding the Martin family, I can readily see the influence this devotion had on her thought. Devotion to the Holy Face is a beautiful, needed devotion for our time.

It is both a beautiful book and story and so timely for our age; the prayer for reparation of the crimes by Communists, Blasphemers and Profaners as well as the Golden Arrow Prayer are especially appreciated.

The Golden Arrow has to be one of my new favorite books. It was also well-bound and durable. This was so worthwhile, I cant recommend it enough! I plan to buy copies for my dear friends for next Mardi Gras, aka, the feast of the Holy Face of Jesus.
