St. Dominic and the Rosary is a beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully written introduction to one of the Church’s most powerful devotions. The artwork is rich and captivating, drawing children in from the very first page. The story itself is simple and clear, making it accessible to a wide range of ages—from young listeners to early readers. What I especially appreciate is how the book doesn’t just tell the story of St. Dominic, but gently teaches children the purpose and power of the Rosary through his example. The inclusion of step-by-step instructions for praying the Rosary at the end makes it a truly practical tool for families looking to pass on this devotion. As part of the Saints and Sacramentals series, this book does a wonderful job introducing the idea of sacramentals in a way that is meaningful and easy for children to grasp. It’s a great addition to any Catholic family’s bookshelf and a helpful resource for teaching the faith at home.

As an adult, I try to pray the Rosary each day and with my family. Some of the greatest saints have said that the Rosary is a ladder to Heaven. The book "Saints and Sacramentals: Saint Dominic and the Rosary" by Shaun McAfee tells the story of Saint Dominic and shares simple instructions for children on how to pray the Rosary. My children adore this book, and I pray that yours will as well.
