Courtship of the saints
Great book, great service!

a wonderful book that belongs in all Catholic homes
Patrick O’Hearn, author of one of my favorite books, Parents of the Saints, has written another wonderful book, Courtship of the Saints, that belongs in every Catholic family’s home library. The stories in Courtship are beautiful, fascinating, and highly relevant to all people who are discerning God’s plan for their lives, and especially young people who may be destined for marriage. One of my favorite chapters is chapter six, “Courtships that Produced Saints,” because it shows that when a married couple’s love for each other is fueled by their love for God, it creates an earthly home that stirs the hearts of their children to want to be worthy of their heavenly home. I loved the stories of Saints Louis and Zélie Martin and Servants of God Karol and Emilia Wojtyla and so many others. This is a fascinating and inspiring book. I highly recommend it!

Excellent Book
Courtship of the Saints by Patrick O’Hearn is a beautiful look at courtship itself, and also through the stories of the saints. The courtship process has distinct stages as explained in the very beginning and I loved the inclusion of this information, especially for people who aren’t familiar with it. My husband and I began as very good friends and it has been so important in our own relationship and then marriage. The various stories included are wonderful. I loved reading about some favorite, such as Pietro and Saint Gianna Molla and Saints Louis and Zelie Martin. I also loved reading about Servants of God Karol and Emilia Wojtyla (the parents of Pope Saint John Paul II) and Joseph and Maria Ratzinger (the parents of Pope Benedict XVI). These stories are just a few examples of the many wonderful stories skillfully told in this book. This would be a great book for dating couples and also already married couples. After all, as we work to get our spouses and families to heaven, we can all use reminders now and then of the beauty and the gift of marriage. I highly recommend this book. It has been a joy to read and one I know I will read again. Thank you to Tan Books for the copy of this beautiful book. All views are my honest opinion.

A must-read for everyone!
This is a must-read for those discerning the vocation of marriage, couples who are engaged, or even married couples. SO much good stuff in this book. It's encouraging and uplifting reading about how even declared saints encountered difficult and unexpected crosses in their lives and yet they overcame them and kept striving towards holiness. Absolutely recommend this amazing book.

Married Mentors
As a married couple, it can be difficult to find saints who weren’t nuns, monks, priests, or recluses. Guidance from such saints is no less valuable or wise, but it can be comforting to hear words from a couple who has walked through the same sacrament you’re walking now. This book does the hard work of gathering married saints together and telling their stories. We can all benefit from some of the most notable saintly couples we know!
