The Baltimore Catechism Set (Complete 4-Volume Edition)

Commissioned by the Third Council of Baltimore · Published by TAN Books

    Overview

Since its debut in 1885, the Baltimore Catechism has formed generations of Catholics in the clear, confident truths of the Faith. Commissioned by the bishops of the United States, it was created to ensure that children, converts, and families received a consistent, authoritative presentation of Catholic doctrine, grounded in Scripture and ordered toward real Christian living.

Written in a simple, easy-to-follow question-and-answer format, the Baltimore Catechism excels where modern resources often falter. It teaches doctrine plainly, builds concepts logically, and connects belief to moral action. There is no ambiguity, no trend-chasing, and no dilution, just the Faith taught clearly and memorably.

The renewed interest in the Baltimore Catechism reflects a growing realization that clarity matters. In an age of confusion, Catholics young and old are rediscovering the value of concise answers to life’s most important questions. This complete four-volume set restores the Catechism as a foundational tool for authentic Catholic formation.

      Superb

I am so pleased with this set! I was looking for a good Q&A in order to better answer my children's and my grandchildren's questions and this set blew me away. I got the idea when listening to a broadcast of Scott Hahn. There was a feeling I felt when Scott was talking about his experience with the Baltimore Catechism and I knew that I was being directed to this set. Absolutely no regrets.

      Baltimore Catechism Set

      Posted by M. on Oct 16th 2023

This is a beautiful set of a most important catechism. I used the Baltimore Catechism in preparation for my OWN Confirmation. Throughout our homeschooling years in the formative grades my dear husband and I used the Baltimore Catechism with our own children. Our family is pleased to have the four-book set all, reprinted here at TAN, in the same format. Thank you and God bless.

The Freemason phrase, "Ignorance is bliss" has brought millions if not billions to hell. Rome now says Evangelism is bad. So how does one actually learn how to live, work and thrive effectively and efficiently, in both the physical and spiritual world? Buy, read and live this set because you wont learn this from the pulpit or parents in virtually all cases. The law does not pity or excuse fools and all of us are bound by natural law. So learn it, or not.

I love this collection for early, middle highschoolers and the adult version. It is a great method to learn about one's faith. I plan on ordering 12 ofBook 2s for family members. Older family grew up using this teaching technique.

An excellent resource for learning our Faith and looking up answers to questions. The Bible tells stories on how these articles of faith are expressed and applied.

Perhaps the GREATEST lack among Catholics is catechesis ! It is said 60% of Catholics do not believe or understand the Real Presenceù of Christ in the Eucharist. Baltimore Catechism is the best cure for Ignorance of Catholic faith and life
