Back then, we were supposed to believe that ;modern; was somehow &quot;a wave that was important to ride&quot;. But it also looked like a good way to destroy some absolutely beautiful churches and even more beautiful clarity of thought that was so muddied and massacred. The book also is an excellent example of how an atheistic mind reasons. Curiously, it remains a lively debate in our family as to who the man in the hospital really was and where he was going. I know we had over 59,000 priests in the USA in 1970 and today we have 35,000. I know about Bella Dodd too who put 1100 communists in our seminaries in the late 1920s and 1930s. My father was a seminarian in 1930s in St. Louis with the Jesuits.
