Fr. K. E. Schmoger, CSsR
Father Carl E. Schmöger, C.SS.R. (1819–1893), was a German priest and author of the nineteenth century. Born in Ehingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Schmöger entered the congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, commonly known as the Redemptorists. He spent his life in the Redemptorist congregation of Gars Abbey in Gars am Inn, Bavaria, where he died. He is best known for his comprehensive work Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich, first published in 1885, which details the facts surrounding the life of the titular saint.
